5-Day Berber Villages Atlas Mountains Trek

Detailed Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech - Asni- Imioughlad - Tiziane (1950 M)

   Departure at 8H vehicle for the mountains of the high western atlas of Toubkal by the small mountain town Asni before arriving at the village Imi n'Oughlad where we meet our team of muleteers, start of hike by a first climb that will take us to the pass of Tacht (2000m). A stop allows to appreciate a superb view of the valley. We go down to a spring for lunch. Then we descend to reach the village of Tiziane located in a valley with multiple colors of earth. Overnight at the lodging.1h30 of road. 5 hours walk.

2. Day 2: Tiziane (1950m) - Teouti Pass (2400m) - Tkent (2150m)

   We leave the village of Tiziane. We begin to climb in the shade of gigantic walnut trees, then the sun will come to warm us before the arrival at the pass. It is always better to purify the water taken from the sources or the rivers before to drink it, because it is Capable of disrupting the digestive system not accustomed to spring water. We cross a forest of thuriferous junipers before reaching the col de Teouti -2400m. Descend to Assaka where we eat lunch. Then we continue until the Tizgui, an exceptional village by its hydraulic mills and beautiful architecture. Overnight stay at the guesthouse 5h30 walk.

3. Day 3: Tkent Valley (2150m) - Tougdalt Pass (2700m) - Tizi Oussem (1950m)

   The departure is towards 8H by a ravine at the foot of a summit of more than 3 600 meters of altitude. 1h30 of climb by an easy trail. Here it is the domain of the shepherds, we will meet herds and Berber shepherds. From the Tougdalt pass, you have a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks. Long descent through a thuriferous juniper forest. Lunch in the shade of the gigantic hundred-year-old walnut trees on the banks of the river Azaden. We find ourselves in the most beautiful valley of Toubkal - landscapes to enjoy by taking the meal and recovering the strength after the tiredness of a tongue walks. In the afternoon, we continue to the village Tizi Oussem (1950m). Night at the inhabitant, 5h30 walk.

4. Day 4: Tizi Oussem - Mzik Pass (2450m) - Imlil

   In the morning, climb 600 meters to reach the pass of Mezzik (2450 m). Descend then on Aberdoune then the valley of Mzik (1750 m). We descend to the beautiful valley of Imlil and its landscapes of green valley in the middle of the orchards. Lunch on the terrace under the big walnut trees. Then we continue to the one of imlil village where we spend our night at the Guesthouse. 5h30 walking.

5. Day 5: Imlil - Armed - Mrabout Of Chamharouche - Back To Imlil - Tranfert To Marrakech

   We follow the canals that irrigate the terraced crops between the superb villages hanging on the slopes of this northern slope of the Toubkal massif, then by a mule track to arrive at the small village and marabout of Sidi Chamarouch at 2290 meters of altitude. Beyond, towards the Toubkal, then we return to Imlil, after lunch, end of our hike, we leave the mule drivers and find the vehicle. Back to Marrakech.
